All of the in-person dating events listed on Fanciful are independently organised run by local, independent event creators but are powered by our ticketing, event management and matching functionally. Think of us as Etsy but for dating events!

We provide local event listings, ticketing, and a full-service event management platform for local organisers of live and virtual dating events. We also list our own in-house virtual speed dating events powered by our own technology.

Singles use Fanciful to find interesting dating events and easily book tickets from a host of local organisers, safe in the knowledge their event is hosted on the industry leading Fanciful platform.

Speed dating is a tried and tested matchmaking format where singles have a series of short, face to face dates with potential matches. Each date typically lasts a few minutes, after which the participants move on to the next person.

Some events are designed for a particular age range or demographic or sexuality and some are open to a wider audience.

In an increasingly online world, Fanciful champtions the enormous benfitits of meeting people live and face either in-person or at virtual speed dating events hosted on our platform.

The concept of virtual speed dating is very similar to in-person speed dating. You enjoy multiple face-to-face short dates except virtual speed dating takes place via your mobile device or computer browser. Fanciful virtual speed dating events are fully automatic. Sign up, click the joining link and we'll bring the dates to you wherever you are. Afterwards, you find out who you are mutually matched with and have the ability to chat and message with those where you see potential. You'll love the experience and there's nothing else quite like it.

Every organiser develops a unique approach but most speed dating events begin with a brief introduction from the event host. Participants are then invited to sit in couples at numbered tables around the venue. Everyone is usually given a 'scorecard' as a means to keep track of everyone they meet. When the event is underway couples speak and get to know each other for around four minutes or until the the host signals the end of the date.

Typically, each speed date interaction lasts between 3-6 minutes. This may vary depending on the event organiser and the number of participants taking part. We find this is just long enough to decide if you like someone and not too long if you don't!

Generally, speed dating events are designed for individuals to attend on their own or for groups of friends who are all taking part in the event.

However, some organisers may allow you to bring a friend as a wingman or wing woman. Check with the event organiser for their specific policy.

Yes, you can cancel your registration for a speed dating event, but you will be required to give a certain amount of notice notice in order to reschedule to another event. Your ticket is unlikely to be refundable. Check the policy on your booking confirmation email or contact your organiser directly.
